JUJUBE      (Ziziphus Jujube):

It’s a plant the average size of which is about 10 meters. This is a plant that grows in Warm places and its fruits are ripen in winter. Jujube has significant amount of minerals in it. Also contains protein, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, iron, carvin, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and fluorine. Jujube is rich in fiber that reduces cholesterol and sugar in the blood. Its fat content is very low. Ratio of unsaturated fatty acids in Jujube as compared to its total fat content is very high. In Britain, Jujube is used as dried or as flavored candies during Supper Teatime. In China, Korea and Taiwan, people use its sweet syrup. In some regions Vinegar is made from it and in Africa cake is made from jujube. Canned Jujube as well as Jujube flavored tea is also available in the world.
